Hasselt University, Belgium

 

Hasselt University was officially established in 1971, as the Limburgs Universitair Centrum (LUC) and given the name “Hasselt University” in 2005. The university is a creative crossroads in an international knowledge and innovation web. It works with other universities, research centers, businesses and organisations across the globe to achieve excellent educational results, and participate in programs such as Science Sharing and Global Mindset. Furthermore, Hasselt University takes an interest in initiatives aimed at scientific collaboration, and Science Sharing with institutions in developing countries. It is also keen to participate actively in the search for sustainable ‘answers’ to societal challenges in developing countries, along with local partners.

Currently, Hasselt University has 2 campuses in Hasselt and Diepenbeek, Belgium - a low-lying country on the North Sea coast in the Benelux, region of Europe.
